A Mother Blessing or Blessingway is a special ceremony designed to acknowledge, honour and celebrate a woman’s rite of passage into motherhood.
This beautiful woman-centred ritual is rooted in the Native American Navajo tradition and is designed to help the expectant mother prepare mentally, emotionally and spriitually for her new role as a mother.
Different from a Baby Shower, a Mother Blessings purpose is to provide a safe and nurturing space to allow the new mother to explore some of the challenges and joys that lie before her as she approaches birth and motherhood. Surrounded by the most important women in her life she will gain a sense of empowerment and confidence, love and support to help her on her way.
Mother Blessings are becoming an increasingly popular alternative to the traditional Baby Shower where the focus is on gifts for the baby.
At Womb In Bloom our Mother Blessing ceremonies are tailored to the unique needs and wishes of each new mother. While a traditional Blessingway follows a number of stages and rituals they can be as rich or as simple as you like. Your friends and family members are encouraged to participate in ways that are meaningful, comfortable and significant to them.

DURATION: A Mother Blessing Ceremony typically runs for around 2.5 hours
AVAILABILITY: Mother Blessing Ceremonies are available on Saturday afternoons, Sunday mornings and Sunday Afternoons. Please notify us of your preferred time and date 5 weeks in advance.
COST: Fee for Mother Blessing includes your special day and a preliminary meeting - $380
Please note a 50% deposit is required at time of booking. Final balance required 7 Days after the event.
LOCATION: Womb In Bloom 4 Best Avenue, Mosman.
Our studio is located in Georges Heights just a couple of minutes drive from the Mosman Village shops. The studio is surrounded by the beautiful Headland park and has plenty of unrestricted parking for your guests close by.
